{"id":104049,"date":"2026-06-05T10:02:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T09:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cleanenergypipeline.com\/?p=104049"},"modified":"2026-06-05T10:02:13","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T09:02:13","slug":"qualitas-energy-acquires-us-solar-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cleanenergypipeline.com\/news\/qualitas-energy-acquires-us-solar-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Qualitas Energy acquires US solar development"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Qualitas Energy has acquired a 164 MWp solar PV project in Illinois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development-stage project is located within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) market and was acquired from Bechtel Enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notice to proceed is expected in Q2 2028, with commercial operation targeted for Q3 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has secured 100% site control, is fully permitted and received unanimous approval through the county permitting process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qualitas Energy said the asset offers the potential to incorporate up to 64 MWac of battery energy storage capacity in the future, supporting the development of a bundled solar-plus-storage power purchase agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company plans to advance the project through optimisation of its offtake strategy, procurement, construction planning and financing activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Strong value creation potential<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition reflects Qualitas Energy\u2019s disciplined investment approach and its ability to identify high-quality renewable energy assets with strong value creation potential,\u201d said Alejandro Ciruelos, Partner \u2013 US at Qualitas Energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe project combines advanced development status, strong fundamentals and multiple commercialisation pathways in one of the country\u2019s most attractive power markets.
